It's Been a While!!!!

Okay, I know it has been a while since I posted our first blog.  Our family has been super busy!!!!
Let me update everyone on what has happened so far with our babies...

Addison....My beautiful, happy, "big" baby girl has been a true blessing!  She started going to Ms. Kasey's in late August when I had to unfortunately go back to work.  Luckily, she had just finished her colic stage and was coming into her own personality.   It took a few day to get acclimated, but she definitely fits in perfectly.  Addison loves to watch the other children!!!  At her 4 month check up, she weighed 15lbs and was a little over 25 inches.  I'm sure she is at least 17 lbs now and is 26 inches with her now wearing 6-9 month old clothes!   The doctor also noticed how active Addison was and commented on it.  Hopefully she won't keep us on our toes too much!  But, she did say Addison was perfect!  Time has certainly passed by way too fast...I can't believe she is already 5 1/2 months.  Addison is now eating cereal, fruit, and veggies!  She laughs at everything, is rolling all around, pushing up, stands (with help of course), and is sitting on her own.   She is, as Maddox says, "AMAZING!!!!"

Now on to my "little man", Maddox, who is growing up so fast!!!  In a little over a week, he will be 3!!!  Oh how the years have passed!  There are times I will find myself looking in his baby book or at that years photo album remembering when....  Everyday he is speaking more clearly and comprehending so much more.   He loves to ask questions, play sports, complete puzzles, read books, play with his "zoom-zooms",  use his imagination, and to be involved in EVERYTHING.  I'm not sure if this is a 3 year old thing, but he has started showing a little more attitude and sarcasm than usual.  Maddox has always thought he was funny...but now it's to the EXTREME!  Time-out is becoming more part of his daily schedule.  :)  Maddox is still the loving, compassionate son that warms all of our hearts, especially Addison's.  She will watch his every move and laugh at all of his silly faces.  I'm lucky to have a son and daughter who adore each other as much as they do!

We are excited about being together for Christmas this year as a family of 4.  Addison already loves listening to holiday music and looking at the lights around the house.  Maddox, Scott, and I were all born in December so we looking forward to celebrating together.  I pray everyone has a safe and wonderful Christmas and a happy NEW YEAR!!!!

That's it for now.  I promise to update our blog more than every 5 months!!!  :)

Our First BLOG!!!

Welcome...I know that I am years behind in creating a blog for my family.
So I will try my hardest to catch up.

We are now a family of 4!!!  On Thursday, June 17 at 7:18pm, Addison Helene arrived weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces and 19 3/4 inches.  My son, Maddox, is a big brother!!!  She has been a wonderful addition to our family.  Unlike our son, delivery with her was a BREEZE, and our first few weeks at home were the same.  Then the 3rd week hit and everything changed. She suddenly had become very fussy.  We have been working very hard in trying different tactics to make her more comfortable.  As each day passes, things get better and better.  Addison is now 5 weeks old, and is sleeping approx. 4-5 hours through each feeding at night.  Which is a vast improvement.  She such a beautiful baby girl that I can't get enough of.  Thankfully she LOVES to cuddle!

Maddox is TWO!!!  ENOUGH SAID!  He has actually been the best big brother!  Maddox loves to help his baby sister hold her bottle and help his mom change her diapers.  He's such a loving and sweet little boy.  When we aren't tending to Addison, he loves to play ball outside, ride his bike, read books, color, and dance.   He's full of energy and life!  Recently, he has been starting to push his limits and to see how far he can go.  Hopefully, this stage won't last to long!  I would like for him to stay my sweet "baby" boy forever!

Well, there it is. Scott and I are on top of the world!  We have two amazing children that bring such joy to our lives.  God has truly blessed us!   I will try my hardest to continue to keep everyone up to date with the "Smith Clan".  Have a great day and a fabulous summer!!!
